In a separate development, Visiting Syrian Minister of Health Nizar Yazigi said 30 hospitals out of 100 have been destroyed due to civil war in this Arabic country, the IRNA news agency reported.
The Syrian minister made the remarks in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Dr. Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi.
'So far 20 pharmaceutical factories out of 100 have been destroyed during the Syrian war and this Country is facing serious difficulties in supplying the medicines and vaccines,' he added.
'The terrorists targeted a large number of medical centers in Syria last year,' the Syrian minister ntoed.
He reiterated that Syria government has so far repaired 16 pharmaceutical factories and a number of hospitals in collaboration with Iran.
'The Islamic Republic of Iran has met some parts of the Syrian people needs to the vaccine, medicine and ambulances,' he added.
Last week, the Iranian health minister in a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud discussed the expansion of bilateral ties and mutual cooperation as well as Syria's sharing Iran's knowhow and experiences in pharmaceutical and medical equipment.
Hashemi pointed to Islamic Republic of Iran's readiness to enhance its relations with Syria, especially in medical equipment and medicine fields, and said, 'We will do our best to help Syria in this field.'
